We need to protect the 3rd Congressional District’s water from downstream threats, and from instate water grabs. We must also increase our storage capacity by upgrading current structures; some of which are almost 60 years old.
When the federal government concocted a plan to take Western Colorado’s private water rights, we introduced the Water Rights Protection Act, another bipartisan bill, to prevent the federal government’s western water grab and protect the many water uses our communities rely on.
Politicians and bureaucrats back east do not understand the complicated water issues we face here in the West. I will continue to fight for our farmers, rancher, ski areas, and all citizens of the 3rd Congressional District.
